Photogenic or not, let's see about that....

Click here for Audio Part of the process for creating buzz around "C is for Conquer" is making sure I have a photo album for media and such. To begin with, it is my impression that I am not at all photogenic. I prefer to think of myself as much much better in living color. It doesn't really matter as my true beauty is inside and to know me is to experience it. I am very straight forward and honest, but always try to be impeccable with my words as not to ever hurt anyone. Makeup & hair by Kelly Burns Okay, so I need to get some great headshots and pics to make this happen so I go to my people and find that we have an aspiring photographer among us and then I have Kelly Burns of Bombshell Beauties to do my makeup and hair.  Kelly is a daughter  of our heart not only is she is the mother of three of our grandchildren (Kami, Sienna & Ty), she is building a beautiful life with our son RJ and is a cosmetologist by trade. She has a true entrepreneurial spi

Click here for Audio So I am at our Downtown Kaity's Way office, working away. I just finished up with an intern on a project and am starting to process some requests for presentations when I get a call on the Kaity's Way phone. I answer in my typical way, "Kaity's Way this is Bobbi, how can I help you?" The person on the other end asks me, "is this the Bobbi that wrote C is for Conquer ?" I was taken back for a moment because I try really hard to keep Kaity's Way and my writing separate. After taking a second to collect my thoughts, I answered, "yes" and before I had a chance to ask her any questions she explained she was a publisher for a magazine and wanted to possibly do a story about "C is for Conquer." It was like two areas of my brain were in full function simultaneously. I am listening to her, but at the same time wondering, how does she know about my book, why did she call the Kaity's Way number, have I gone into a

Click here for Audio Last week was a Great week for me. I learned a couple of things and one I learned by simply stepping out of my comfort zone. A couple of weeks ago I was doing some research about cancer groups and programs for marketing my book. One of the organizations I came across was Cancer Support Community Arizona, www.cscaz.org . I found the website interesting and easy to navigate. Eventually, I created an account and curiously signed up for their produce pick up program. I received a call from Linda, a volunteer at CSCAZ , to remind me of the produce pick up later in the day on the 10th. Extra produce from local farms is taken to CSCAZ and available for pick up by people who register for a pick up. So I followed through and went over to the facility in Phoenix at 4 pm. Thankfully, I was in the downtown area, so it was just around the corner. CSCAZ is a very pleasant place. Everyone I encountered was nice and helpful. The buildings were very charming. I found my

Click here for Audio I hope this post finds you doing well and looking at a Great new year. Looking back, one of the best things about 2018 was getting on with this book journey. It has given me a much needed escape from some of the recent challenges I have had to face. I believe that was by design and will just leave it at that.  Now to the juicy great news, 2019 started off quite positive for me personally and professionally with Kaity's Way and my book, "C is for Conquer." Personally, I feel like I have a grip on my schedule and the work life balance concept. It has only taken me forever to get here, live and learn right. I am spending more time with the ones I love and I love it!  Professionally, I met with Superintendent-elect Hoffman yesterday. She is the top of the apex for education in Arizona. I found her to be very receptive and engaging. I sincerely believe she will work very hard to improve the very broken educational system in Arizona. She needs all t
