Just getting started....


So here I am looking at my journal and a blog I had created - C is for Conquer. Both are all about a journey that I did not sign up for, but nonetheless had to take. How I dealt with, battled and recovered from cancer. The reason I am assessing the journal and the blog is because once I returned to work after going into remission an employee that reported to me some time ago approached me laughing and hugged me. I am wondering what was that all about???? You have to understand our relationship to know why I questioned her behaviour.

Flat out she did not like me as her supervisor at all and did not have an issue letting me or anyone else in the office know. She challenged just about every directive I gave. She took issue with anything I did or said. Yea, she was that employee. When dealing with her I always took it in stride and figured she was just not a very happy person and was looking for others to join her. Since I had a choice I chose not to join her and participate in her world beyond work. Even at work I pretty much had as little to do with her as I possibly could. No sense in being around people that bring negativity to the table.

So as she is hugging me and laughing she asks me if I am going to write a book. I am somewhat perplexed about this question and asked her why she would ask me that. She said that my blog, C is for Conquer was absolutely hilarious to her. I am taken back at the fact that she would have even read it, but thinking back on it I shouldn't have been. Misery loves company and well when your dealing with cancer things can be pretty miserable. Either way, her words stuck with me and I took it as a sign and that is why I now find myself with a nearly done manuscript, working with Morgan James Publishing  (MJP) to release my at the moment untitled book.... I have a couple of ideas for the book title, but I am going to work with the MJP team to come up with the best one we can.

This here is a shout out to those that have empowered and encouraged me along the way. Ric thank you for your support and unconditional love. My children, Yvonne, RJ, Kaity and Virginia, it is each of you that keep me grounded with your beautiful souls. Dione for editing my book and being a great friend. My aunt Janie who encouraged me to journal about my experience. Chief Jerald Monahan for being a friend and connecting me to Morgan James Publishing. Last but not least Morgan James Publishing as thus far they have been great to work with and I believe I am just getting started. I am learning so much and really appreciate them sharing their expertise with me to make the journey the best it can be. So even though I did not choose some of the journeys I have experienced, I have chosen the journey to becoming a published author and it feels really good!

Once the book is published, I intend to utilize this blog to offer it for sale and keep you all in the loop with future writings of mine. Yes, I have about four other ideas for books I plan to write. I hope you find this blog and my books to be enlightening and something to look forward to. Take care until the next time!

Love Part VIIII: Self Love: Equality

Let’s focus on ‘the state of being.’ I see ‘the state of being’ “anything” is something we do naturally. It is existing because we do. Now adding equal to that is ‘the state of being equal.’ Meaning to see ourselves as equal or treating ourselves as an equal. It starts with us, so it is a must that we see ourselves as equal to others. How we see or treat ourselves is our true power and control. Treating ourselves well makes it difficult for another to mistreat us. Simply because when we treat ourselves well, we give ourselves an insight as to how we need or want to be loved and treated. No: Can be very uncomfortable for some

Click here for Audio No , probably one of the most universal words that has the same meaning in most languages. Yet, for some it is a very uncomfortable word to say. Then there are those that don't accept no as an answer very well. This was addressed in a former blog I put out in October, " No: Can you handle it ." So, we will address those that don't like to say No.  Being comfortable with declining or saying No is an important step in maturing and taking care of ourselves. The inability to decline or say No, could be devastating for a child. I am thinking this societal conditioning is one of the reasons we have children being violated and abused.  We are all born with the ability to sense energy or vibes. Children and animals are seriously tuned into this, but societal conditioning has made those children doubt themselves as they get older. Everyone is capable of Super Powers!
